Squash Flan
- Ingredients
- brown sugar
- 1 cup squash, peeled boiled and mashed
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 pieces eggs, beatenshopping list
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
How to make it
- 1.Caramelize brown sugar in a pot. Make sure there is equal distribution of sugar. Set aside.
- 2. Blend squash, cornstarch, evaporated milk, and sugar.
- 3. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
- 4. Pour in baking container and steam for 15-20 minutes or until fork inserted comes out clean.
- 5. Refrigerate.
I've never heard of squash flan! It does look good, though! The National Garden Society named 2010 as the year of the squash, so this is an appropriate recipe as the year is closing! This would be pretty to make for Thanksgiving!
