Health Notes


I studied the function of our nervous system this week and I was fascinated how God made us all beautiful. An example of this is how he placed endorphins in our system that act as natural protection from pain. Endorphins are endogenous opioid polypeptide compounds. They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates, these give us natural highs and potent natural pain killers.Here are some good ways to increase Endorphins in our body.

You can laugh a lot
You can eat spicy food
You can engage in deep breathing, or meditate
You can have a chiropractic adjustment or acupuncture treatment
You can listen to the music you most enjoy
You can eat chocolate
You can have sex
You can exercise

Any of these activities can increase the levels of endorphins and enkephalins in the body, giving us a general feeling of happiness. This can be true for back pain or pain in the neck or other extremities, arthritis pain, fibromyalgia pain, or neuropathic pain (nerve pain). Let's have a healthy, hearty laugh today.
